Yes. Although the credit bureaus would like you to think otherwise, your right to dispute items on your credit report is protected by federal law under the FCRA. Please see the Fair Credit Reporting Act
for a complete explanation of this right.

Great question! Unfortunately we cannot give you a definite time frame; restoring your credit report may take more or less time depending on various factors such as the number of negative items on your reports, your participation in getting your updated credit reports to us, and the level of credit bureau cooperation.

Q. |
Do I Provide My Credit Reports to You? |
A. |
Yes. Because Credit Builder PlusT is not a lending institution; we are not legally authorized to request copies of your credit reports directly from the credit reporting agencies. It is therefore necessary for you to furnish us with an initial set.
If you have been denied credit in the last 60 days you can request a report for FREE. To purchase them you can go to www.transunion.com,
www.equifax.com, and
www.experian.com. We must have all three bureaus to begin the restoration process.
This step is necessary only once. After you have provided us with the initial copies of your credit reports, the credit bureaus will send you updated copies automatically each time they update your account to reflect a change. You must mail those updated copies to us immediately to ensure successful results.

Where Do I Mail My reports? |
A. |
You will need to mail your credit reports along with any correspondence you receive from the credit bureaus to:
Credit Builder Plus
123 E. Grand River Ave.
Williamston, MI 48895 |
A. |
No. While faxing can be a faster way of getting your credit reports to us, it is also less reliable than mailing them. Fax machines can vary in quality causing transmissions to be illegible. To avoid these problems, which can cause significant delays, we require clients to mail their reports and any correspondences to us. This ensures that we receive legible and accurate reports from our clients. Though it is not required you may expedite the mailing time by sending it overnight mail via US Postal Service or via a private parcel carrier such as UPS or Fed Ex.

Q. |
Do I Need To Pay The Items That Have Been Deleted? |
A. |
If there are delinquent accounts on your credit reports that have not been paid off, the actual debt owed remains the same even if we delete the account from your credit report. You still owe the same money that you owed in the first place. If you don't pay the debt, the creditor or collection agency could always re-report the item. Removing the negative item without addressing the debt is only a temporary solution.
*That is why we have a debt negotiation program available to negotiate these balances down, allowing you to permanently be rid of these debts at a minimal cost to you.
|
Q. |
What If Deleted Items Re-Appear? |
A. |
Occasionally a negative item that was deleted will be re-verified by the creditor. The Fair Credit Reporting Act
requires that the credit bureau inform you before they re-report a previously deleted listing. The FCRA also makes it more difficult for credit bureaus to re-report items. Because of these factors, it is rare for them to come back on once they have been deleted.

Q. |
What if I do
not have Internet access or even a computer? |
A. |
We highly recommend you contacting your local library, Kinko's or anywhere else nearby that you can get access to the internet at least once every 30 - 45 days to get logged into your web center for the education and repair process needed to get you back on your feet and financially moving forward.
